Tree of Strings Festival Must Knows

Join us for a single concert or shape your own day or weekend.

Tree of Strings Festival takes place from Friday 3 – Sunday 5 July, with concerts and events spread across the day and evening, so you can join us for a single concert or shape your own day or weekend.

Most events take place within Abbotsbury village, with the Tithe Barn and St Nicholas Church a short walk apart. St Catherine’s Chapel sits on the hill above the village and is reached by a steady climb, rewarded with wide views across the landscape and the ocean.

We aim to make Tree of Strings welcoming and accessible, with seated concerts throughout and time built in to enjoy the village between events. Full access information and ticket options, including single tickets, day passes and weekend passes, are available on our website.

Food and drink

Our festival supporters Cherries café provide a welcoming place to eat, drink and gather, right at the heart of the village. They are part of the same Abbey Farm site as the Tithe Barn. They serve delicious homemade food using local ingredients.

There are a small number of other cafes, restaurants and pubs in Abbotsbury. For more options nearby, visit the Abbotsbury Village website.

Themed food events

Alongside the music, Cherries Café will be creating a small number of themed food and drink moments inspired by the weekend programme.

One of the highlights will be our Latin American evening, pairing tango with a relaxed menu and bar inspired by the flavours of the region, including caipirinhas. It’s a chance to make a full evening of the concert, with food, drinks and festival atmosphere in the beautiful surroundings of Abbotsbury.

Where to stay

Abbotsbury and the surrounding area offer a range of places to stay, from village inns and guesthouses to holiday cottages, campsites and nearby hotels.

If you’re planning to join us for the full weekend, we recommend booking early, as accommodation in and around Abbotsbury can be limited during the summer months. Staying locally also gives you time to enjoy the village, the coast and the wider Dorset landscape between concerts.

For more accommodation options, please visit the Abbotsbury Village website or explore nearby towns such as Weymouth, Bridport and Dorchester.

About Abbotsbury

Tree of Strings is rooted in the remarkable village of Abbotsbury, a place shaped by centuries of history and set within some of the most beautiful countryside in Dorset.

Once home to a Benedictine abbey founded in the 11th century, the village still bears its medieval imprint, from the vast Tithe Barn, built to store crops for the abbey, to the warmly resonant St Nicholas Church, which has stood at the heart of village life for hundreds of years. High above it all sits St Catherine’s Chapel, a landmark on the hill with far-reaching views across Chesil Beach and the surrounding landscape.

Between concerts, Abbotsbury offers time to wander, pause and refuel — with our festival supporters Cherries at Abbey Farm providing a welcoming place to eat, drink and gather, right at the heart of the village.
