Hugo Svedberg

About

Hugo is from Bournemouth and started playing the cello at the age of six. He currently studies with Adrian Brendel and has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He has won prizes including the Two Moors Festival Competition, the Bromsgrove Young Musicians Senior Platform, and Sweden’s 2024 ‘Pole Star’ Prize. Hugo is both a music and academic scholar at Canford School in Dorset, and when he’s not practising he enjoys tennis and paddleboarding.

He plays a fine Tecchler cello, kindly loaned by a generous sponsor through Beare’s International Violin Society.
