Formed in Manchester in 2017, the Elmore Quartet is an award-winning British string quartet now based in London. They are currently Hans Keller Chamber Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, following a fellowship at the Royal Northern College of Music, where they taught chamber music to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In recent seasons, the Quartet has recorded for BBC Radio 3 and appeared at leading venues across the UK and Europe, including Wigmore Hall, Kings Place and Bridgewater Hall. In 2024, they won Third Prize at the 13th Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
Their growing list of accolades includes awards from the Tunnell Trust and the Kirckman Concert Society, taking their performances to audiences across the UK, including the Scottish Highlands. They have also been welcomed into Italy’s Le Dimore del Quartetto network by invitation.
Also in 2024, the Elmore Quartet was appointed the Penzance MusicAbility Foundation’s first resident string quartet, in partnership with the Frost Trust. This three-year residency sees them becoming part of the West Cornwall community through regular performances in the Concerts Penzance series, work with local schools, and a shared commitment to bringing classical music to new audiences.
