Colin Alexander

About

Colin Alexander is a cellist and composer whose work moves fluidly across musical styles and disciplines. Alongside collaborations with artists including Kit Downes, Héloïse Werner and Abel Selaocoe, he performs with ensembles such as 12 Ensemble, Phaedra Ensemble and United Strings of Europe.

As a composer, he has written for organisations including the London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Contemporary Orchestra. His recent work includes electro-acoustic commissions, premieres at Wigmore Hall, and performances of his solo cello suites, praised by The Observer as “quixotic and otherworldly”. He is also a founding member of miré.
