Hungarian–Nicaraguan–American violinist Abigél Králik is rapidly emerging as an artist of striking individuality. Described as “warm, pleasing, detailed” and “infectious” by Gramophone, she has also drawn praise for performances of “impeccable intonation and intoxicating passion” (Sächsische Zeitung). In 2020, she was the only musician named in Forbes Hungary’s “30 Under 30” list.
Based in Brussels, Abigél appears regularly as a soloist with leading orchestras internationally and maintains a busy recital schedule across Europe and the United States. Her debut album (2025) includes Arthur Benjamin’s rarely heard Romantic Fantasy Double Concerto, recorded with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and received enthusiastic reviews from Gramophone and Diapason.
A prizewinner at competitions including the New York International Artists Association, the Vienna International Music Competition, and Talents for Europe, Abigél has performed at festivals such as Verbier, Budapest, Krzyżowa, Moritzburg, and Prussia Cove. Her chamber music partners have included artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Tabea Zimmermann, Vilde Frang, and Jan Vogler.
Abigél completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at The Juilliard School, where she studied with Itzhak Perlman as a Kovner Fellow. After two years as an Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, she continues to develop an increasingly international career. Looking ahead, 2026 will see the release of her next recording: works for violin and orchestra by Saint-Saëns, recorded with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Howard Griffiths for the CPO label. Alongside her performing life, she is also the Founder and Co-Artistic Director of TARA Chamber Concerts in Brussels.
