This visionary trio close the night with song, improvisation and spoken word – fusing folk, jazz and classical in a stunning extended set.

Kit Downes is a BBC Jazz Award winning, Mercury Music Award nominated, ECM recording artist, composer and performer. He burst onto the jazz scene playing with the band Empirical, and has worked with artists as diverse as Squarepusher and Django Bates. He is an accomplished organist, and recently gave a stunning concert on Cologne Cathedral’s famous instrument as part of the jazz festival there.

French-born soprano and composer Héloïse Werner is currently an Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall and is ‘quickly becoming a latter-day Cathy Berberian or Meredith Monk’ (Richard Morrison, The Times). She is a recipient of the Prix Nadia et Lili Boulanger 2025 from Académie des Beaux Arts and the PRSF Composers’ Fund 2025. She has recently been appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow in the Creative Arts at Merton College Oxford for 2026.

Colin Alexander is a cellist and composer working across a range of disciplines and traditions. Whilst collaborating with artists such as Kit Downes, Héloïse Werner, Abel Selaocoe, Max Baillie, Alice Zawadzki, Sean Shibe and Misha Mullov-Abbado, Colin also performs with a variety of ensembles such as  12 Ensemble, LSO Ensemble for composers, Phaedra Ensemble and United Strings of Europe.
